Archbishop Benson CofE Primary School

Special Educational Needs

“Every child has a different learning style and pace. Each child is unique, not only capable of learning but also capable of succeeding” Robert John Meehan

At Archbishop Benson C of E Primary School, we are ambitious for all of our children. We recognise and celebrate that each child is an individual. We view difference and diversity as a resource and an opportunity to 'Make the Special Universal' (MTSU) for all.

Our vision for our children who have a Special Educational Need/Disability is to successfully include them in our over-arching, ambitious, broad and balanced Archbishop Benson curriculum. The children's inclusion is an unending process of increasing their learning and participation over time.  We aim to achieve this by recognising and harnessing their strengths, gifts and talents.

We are committed to an equitable SEND offer where every child with SEND receives the support and intervention that is fair and accessible for them. As a school we have a clear approach to identifying and responding to SEND.  We work in partnership with parents and carers to establish the support the child needs.
